Skill level: Easy

Size: approximately 30" wide x 36" long

Materials:

400 yds. medium weight (4) yarn in Color A

400 yds. medium weight (4) yarn in Color B

Size I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook, or size needed to achieve gauge

Tapestry needle

Gauge: 12 dc = 4” with medium weight (4) yarn on size I/9 (5.5 mm) hook.

Terms/Abbreviations: back loop only (BLO), beginning (beg), chain (ch), double crochet (dc), half double crochet (hdc), hook (hk), repeat (rep), single crochet (sc), skip (sk), slip stitch (sl st), stitch (st)

Pattern notes:

2-color option: Pattern is worked in 2 rows Color A followed by 2 rows Color B. Do not cut yarn, but carry colors loosely up side of work until needed again.

Multicolor option: Use up your scrap yarns and change colors at the end of any row!

Blanket

Row 1: With Col A, ch 79, dc in 4th ch from hk, dc in ea ch across, turn (76 dc)

Row 2: With Col A, ch 1, sc in 1st dc, *ch 3, skip 3 dc, sc in next dc, rep from * across, ending with sc in last dc, turn (19 ch-3 sps)

Row 3: Join Col B to first sc, ch 3, work 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, *3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, rep from * across, end with dc in last sc, turn (19 3-dc blocks)

Row 4: With Col B, ch 1, sc in 1st sc, *ch 3, sc in next ch-1 sp, rep from * across, turn (19 ch-3 sps)

Row 5: With Col A, ch 3, work 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, *3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, rep from * across, end with dc in last sc, turn (19 3-dc blocks)

Row 6: With Col A, ch 1, sc in 1st sc, *ch 3, sc in next ch-1 sp, rep from * across, turn (19 ch-3 sps)

Row 7: With Col B, ch 3, work 3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, *3 dc in next ch-3 sp, ch 1, rep from * across, end with dc in last sc, turn (19 3-dc blocks)

Row 8: With Col B, ch 1, sc in 1st sc, *ch 3, sc in next ch-1 sp, rep from * across, turn (19 ch-3 sps)

Rep Rows 4-8 until blanket is desired length.

Final row: With Col A, ch 3, dc in ea sc and sp across, working 3 dc in ea ch-3 sp. Fasten off.

Edging

Join Col B to any st on final row, ch 1, sc evenly all around blanket, working 3 sc in ea corner, join with sl st. If desired, ch 1 and work a second round of sc, or work in reverse sc for a more decorative edge. Join with sl st, fasten off and weave in all tails.
