Spun)
Size P & Q hooks
Tapestry needle
Gauge: 3 triple crochet = 2" on size Q hook
3 double crochet = 2" on size P hook
Stitches/Terms: beginning (beg), chain (ch), double
crochet (dc), repeat (rep), single
crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st), triple crochet (trc)
Pattern notes: Work beginning chain somewhat loosely
to allow for insertion of large
hook.
Scarf
With size Q hook and super-bulky yarn, ch 80, sl st
in 2nd ch from hook, dc in next ch,
work 3 trc in each chain across to last 2 ch, dc in
next ch, sl st in last ch. Fasten off and
weave in ends. Shake scarf gently to allow ruffles
to curl.
Hat
With size P hook and super-bulky yarn, ch 4, join
into ring (or use beginning looparound-
the-finger method and work into ring as follows):
Rnd 1: Ch 3, work 11 dc in ring, join with sl st to
top of beg ch-3 (12 dc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, work 2 sc in ea dc around, join with sl
st (24 sc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in ea sc around, join with sl st (24
dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in ea dc around (24 sc)
Rnd 5: Ch 3, dc in ea sc around, join with sl st (24
dc)
Rnd 6: Ch 1, sc in ea dc around (24 sc)
Rnd 7: Ch 3, dc in ea sc around, join with sl st (24
dc)
Rnd 8: Ch 1, sc in ea dc around, join with sl st (24
sc)
Rnd 9: Ch 1, sc in ea sc around, join with sl st (24
