Pattern notes:
Shoe
is worked in one piece, beginning with sole worked in rows. Stitches
are picked up around sole and work proceeds in joined rounds to
build sides and instep.
Optional trim is made separately and sewn to top of instep.

Row 1 (RS):
With MC, ch 7, sc in 2nd ch from hk & in ea ch across,
turn (6 sc)
Rows 2-4: Ch
1, sc in ea sc across, turn (6 sc)
Row 5 (inc
row): Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc,
turn (8 sc)
Rows 6-8: Ch
1, sc in ea sc across, turn (8 sc)

row): Ch 1, 2 sc in first sc, sc across to last sc, 2 sc in last sc,

Note:
From this point, work proceeds in joined rounds. Do not turn at end
of rounds but continue in same direction throughout.
Rnd 1: Ch 1,
sc across 6 sc (this is the toe end), pivot piece to work along left
side; working in ends of rows, work 15 sc evenly along side of sole;
pivot piece and work 6 sc across end of piece (this is the heel
end); pivot piece and work 15 sc evenly along remaining side of
sole, join with sl st, do not turn (42 sc)
Rnd 2: Ch 1,
sc in back loop only (BLO) of ea sc around, join with sl st, do not
turn (42 sc)
Rnd 3 (dec
rnd): Working in both loops again as normal, ch 1, sc in same sc,
sc2tog twice (for toe dec), sc in next 17 sc, sc2tog three times
(for heel dec), sc in next 14 sc, join with sl st, do not turn (37
sc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1,
sc in ea sc around, join with sl st, do not turn (37 sc)
Rnd 5 (dec
rnd): Ch 1, sc2tog twice (for toe dec), sc in ea sc around, join
with sl st, do not turn (35 sc)
Rnd 6 (dec
rnd): Ch 2 (counts as first st), hdc2tog (for toe dec), hdc in next
7 sc, sc in next 8 sc, sc2tog twice (for heel dec), sc in next 8 sc,
hdc in next 6 sc, join with sl st to top of ch-2 (32 sts)
Rnd 7: Ch 1,
sl st loosely in top of rem sc around, join with sl st and fasten
off, leaving 10” tail for sewing instep seam.
Finishing:
Turn shoe
inside out. With overcast st, sew instep seam from toe end towards
center of foot for 1.25”, leaving rem 1.75” unsewn for foot opening.
Weave in tails.
Turn shoe
right side out.
Optional
flower trim:
Rnd 1: With
CCB, ch 4, join into ring. Ch 1, sc in ring 8 times, join with sl st,
fasten off CCB.
Rnd 2: Join
CCA to any sc on Rnd 1. *Ch 3, dc in same sc, sc in next sc, rep
from * around, join with sl st and fasten off, leaving 12” tail for
sewing.
Finishing:
Sew flower trim securely to center of instep. Weave in all tails.
