COZY MOHAIR WRAP (crochet)

Finished size:
Approx. 16-1/2” wide x 51” long (excluding fringe)
Materials:
550 yds. light worsted wt. or worsted wt. mohair/wool/nylon blend
(sample shown in King Cole Luxury Mohair)
Size K/10.5 (6.5 mm) hook, or size needed to achieve gauge
Tapestry needle
Gauge:
3 pattern repeats (3 dc, 1 sc) = 4-1/4” on size K/10.5 (6.5 mm) hook
Terms/Abbreviations:
beginning (beg), chain (ch), double crochet (dc), repeat (rep),
single crochet (sc), slip stitch (sl st), space (sp), stitch (st)
Pattern notes:
If fringe is desired, before beginning wrap cut seventy-two 20"
lengths of yarn for fringe and set aside.
Wrap
Row 1: Ch 91, 2 dc in third ch from hook, *skip 3 ch, sc in next ch,
ch 3, dc in ea of next 3 ch, rep from * across, working sc in last
ch, turn.
Row 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in first sc, skip 3 dc, *sc in next sp (the sp
formed by the ch-3 on previous row), ch 3, 2 dc in same sp, 1 dc in
next sc, rep from * across, ending with sc in last sp, turn.
Repeat Row 2 until wrap measures 51", or to desired length. Fasten
off.
Finishing:
Fringe: Place 3 strands of fringe in point of each shell at both
ends of wrap. To attach fringe, insert hook into fabric, fold 3
strands in half over hook, pull loop through fabric, then pull ends
of strands through loop on hook and tighten knot. Trim to desired
length.
