LIQUID GOLD CHAIN MESH SCARF (crochet) Designed by Kathy North of Designs by KN ©2008 Size: Approx. 4" x 44" (excluding fringe) Materials: 180 yds. sport-weight soft metallic-blend yarn (sample shown in Plymouth Yarns "24K") Size I hook – or size to achieve gauge Tapestry needle to weave in ends Gauge: 12 single crochet = 4" with size I hook Stitches/Terms: beginning (beg), chain (ch), repeat (rep), single crochet (sc), space (sp), stitch (st) Note: Before beginning to crochet, cut eighteen 12" strands of yarn for fringe and set aside.
Scarf With size I hook, ch 19, sc in second ch from hook and in ea ch across (18 sc) Row 1: Ch 1, turn, sc in ea sc across (18 sc) Row 2: Ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 sc, *ch 3, skip 1 sc, sc in next sc, rep from * across (8 ch-3 sps) Row 3: Ch 1, turn, sc in first sc, *ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, rep from * across, ending with sc in last ch-3 sp, sc in sc at end of row (8 ch-3 sps) Rep Row 3 until yarn is almost gone. Next row: Sc in ea sc and ea ch-3 sp across (18 sc) Last row: Sc in ea sc across (18 sc). Fasten off and weave in ends. Finishing: For fringe insert crochet hook into first sc at end of scarf, fold strand of fringe in half over hook, pull loop through fabric then pull strand ends through loop on hook and tighten knot.
