double-stranded)

Gauge: 4 sts =
1” in double crochet on size G/6 (4.25 mm) hook
Pattern notes:
Coasters are worked from center out, increasing stitches on each
round and ending with an edging round of reverse single crochet.
Stitches/Terms:
beginning (beg), chain (ch), double crochet (dc), increase (inc),
reverse single crochet (rev sc), round (rnd), single crochet (sc),
slip stitch (sl st), space (sp), stitch (st)
Special stitches:
Reverse single crochet (rev sc): Single crochet in each stitch as
directed, working from left to right (instead of in the usual
direction from right to left).
Coaster
Rnd
1: Ch 4, join into ring (or use disappearing loop beginning method:
wind yarn around forefinger once, insert hook into loop, yo, pull
loop through ring), ch 3, work 11 dc over strands of ring, join with
sl st to top of beg ch-3 (12 dc)
Rnd 2
(inc rnd): Ch 3, dc in same st at base of beg ch-3, *2 dc in next
dc, rep from * around, join with sl st to top of beg ch-3 (24 dc)
Rnd 3
(inc rnd): Ch 5 (counts as beg ch-3 & first ch-2 sp), dc in next dc,
*ch 2, dc in next dc, rep from * around, end with ch 2, join with sl
st to third ch of beg ch-5 (24 dc, 24 sps
Rnd 4
(inc rnd): Sl st into first sp, ch 3, work 2 dc in same sp, *3 dc in
next sp, rep from * around, join with sl st to third ch of beg ch-3
(72 dc)
Rnd 5:
Ch 1, rev sc in ea dc around. Join with sl st and fasten off.
Finishing: Weave in all tails. Flute ruffle (as you would a
piecrust.)
