Tee  (back & front worked the same)

With smaller needles and double strand solid sport wt., cast on 48 (54, 60, 66, 72) sts loosely. Work in garter st for 1-1/2”.  Change to larger needles. Holding 1 strand solid sport wt. together with 1 strand novelty boucle, work in stockinette st until piece measures 11” (12”, 13”, 14”, 15”) from beginning.

Armhole:  Bind off 4 (5, 6, 7, 8) sts at beg of next 2 rows - 40 (44, 48, 52, 56) sts remain. Continue in stockinette st until piece measures 6” (6.5”, 7”, 7.5”, 8”) from beg of armhole, ending on wrong side.

Neckline and shoulders:

Next row (right side): Knit across 12 (13, 14, 15, 16) sts, join second ball(s) of yarn, bind off center 16 (18, 20, 22, 24) sts, knit across remaining 12 (13, 14, 15, 16) sts. Working both sides at same time, decrease 1 st at neckline edge every other row 4 times - 8 (9, 10, 11, 12) sts remain on ea shoulder.

Continue in stockinette st until piece measures 8” (8.5”, 9”, 9.5”, 10”) from beg of armhole. Place sts on holder.

Join shoulders: Place back and front pieces with right sides together. Bind off shoulder sts using 3-needle bind-off technique (see Notes above).

Sleeves:  With larger needle and holding 1 strand solid sport wt. together with 1 strand boucle, pick up evenly around armhole 48 (51, 54, 57, 60) sts. Continuing in stockinette st, decrease 1 st  at each side of sleeve (on right side rows) every 4th row as follows: K1, ssk, K to last 3 sts, K2tog, K1.

Continue to work decreases every 4th row until 6 decrease rows have been completed - 36 (39, 42, 45, 48) sts remain.  Work even until sleeve measures 6” (7”, 8”, 9”, 10”) from beg.  Bind off loosely, using larger needle for bind-off.

Neckline edging: With double strand solid sport wt. and smaller circular needle, with right side of work facing you and beginning at one shoulder seam, pick up and knit 40 (50, 60, 70, 80) sts evenly around neckline. Work garter st in the round (P1 round, K1 round) for 1”.  Bind off loosely, using larger needle for bind-off.

Finishing: Sew side and sleeve seams. Weave in all ends. If necessary and appropriate for your yarn, lightly block sweater by laying it out on thick towels, cover with damp towel and leave to dry in a place with good air circulation.
