Row 1: K2, pm, K1, yo, K3, sl 1, K2 tog, psso, K3,
yo, K1, pm, K2.
Row 2 and all even rows: K2, sl marker, purl across
to next marker, sl marker,
K2.
Row 3: K2, sl marker, K1, K1, yo, K2, sl 1, K2 tog,
psso, K2, yo, K2, sl marker,
K2.
Row 5: K2, sl marker, K1, K2, yo, K1, sl 1, K2 tog,
psso, K1, yo, K3, sl marker,
K2.
Row 7: K2, sl marker, K1, K3, yo, sl 1, K2 tog, psso,
yo, K4, sl marker, K2.
Row 8: K2, purl across sts between markers, K2.
Rep Rows 1-8 of horseshoe pattern seven times (total
of eight "horseshoes".)
Knit 1 row and place sts on holder. Cut yarn,
leaving 24" for weaving seam. Set
piece aside and work second piece to match.
Seam pieces tog either by 3-needle bind-off or by
weaving sts together from
holders with Kitchener stitch. Weave in all tails.
Block scarf lightly by laying it flat on thick
towels, spreading out horseshoe
pattern. Covering with a damp towel for about 30
minutes. Remove towel and
let scarf air dry.
