Gauge:
18 sts
& 21 rows = 4” in K2, P2 rib (slightly stretched) with worsted wt.
yarn on size 10 ndl.
Pattern notes: Hat is worked in seamless method from lower edge to
crown decreases.
Special stitches:
K2tog: knit two stitches together
P2tog:
purl two stitches together
Terms/Abbreviations: beginning (beg), bind off (BO), cast on (CO),
decrease (dec), knit (k), knit two together (k2tog), purl (p), purl
two together (p2tog), remaining (rem), repeat (rep), stitch (st),
stockinette stitch (st st), yarn over (yo)

sts, join into round for circular knitting, being careful that sts
are not twisted on needle. Place marker to note beginning of round.
Rib:
Rnd 1:
*K2, P2, rep from * around (72 sts)
Rep
Rnd 1 until piece measures 13” from beg.
Begin decrease rounds:
Note: Change to dpn’s when
sts no longer fit comfortably on circular needle.
Rnd 1 (dec rnd): *K2tog,
P2tog, rep from * around (36 sts)
Rnds 2-3: *K1, P1, rep from
* around.
Rnd 4 (dec rnd): *K2tog,
rep from * around (18 sts)
Rnd 5: K.
Rnd 6 (dec rnd): *K2tog,
rep from * around (9 sts)
Rnd 7: K.
Rnd 8 (dec rnd): (K2tog)
4x, K1 (5 sts).
Cut yarn, leaving 8” tail.
Gather remaining sts tog and close top. Weave in tails.
To wear: Turn lower portion
of hat up for cuff.
