Pattern notes:

Hat is worked in the round from lower edge to crown.  An eyelet round at top accommodates an I-cord tie.

At each color change, drop old color over new color and bring new color up from under old color to avoid holes in work.

Strand unused color loosely up inside work. Do not cut colors until instructed to do so.

Special stitches:

Begin eyelet rnd:

Garter stitch in the round: with right side of work facing on every round, knit one round, then purl one round to form garter stitch brim.

I-cord: Knit 3, *do not turn work but slide stitches to right end of needle, pull working yarn to right behind work, then knit the same 3 sts again, rep from * until cord is long enough.

Terms/Abbreviations:  beginning (beg), bind off (BO), cast on (CO), decrease (dec), increase (inc), knit (k), knit two together (k2tog), needle (ndl), purl (p), repeat (rep), slip stitch (sl st), stitch (st), stockinette stitch (st st), yarn over (yo)
