BLANKET SQUARES (6” squares)

Knit 6” Square in worsted weight
yarn
Gauge:
3.5 sts = 1” (sample shown in Lion Brand Yarns “Vanna’s Choice”)
Needles: Size 10 (6.0 mm), or size necessary to achieve gauge
Cast on 21 sts. Knit every row until 38 rows have been worked. Bind off.
Crochet 6” Square in worsted weight
yarn
Gauge:
3.5 sts = 1” (sample shown in Lion Brand Yarns “Vanna’s Choice”)
Hook:
Size I/9 (5.50 mm), or size necessary to achieve gauge
Row
1: Chain 22, single crochet in second chain from hook, single crochet in each
chain across, turn (21 single crochet)
Row
2: Chain 1, single crochet in each single crochet across, turn.
Repeat Row 2 until 24 rows have been worked. Fasten off.
Finishing: Arrange squares as desired to form pillows, scarves, baby blankets,
lapghans or afghans. Squares can be left unedged or a single crochet border can
be worked evenly around each square in same or contrast color. Squares can be
joined with mattress stitch, whipstitch, slip stitch or single crochet.
